Recap: A Heavenly Honeymoon & A Courtship Countdown

Now that the wedding is over, the newly married couple heads to their honeymoon in California. They fly to San Francisco and drive up the Pacific Coast Highway to view the amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. They stopped at the Natural Bridge State Beach for a lunch break. Bobby says that for the first few days of their marriage, they felt that they snuck off and about to get caught at any second.

Carlin and Josie discuss how weird it is to be the oldest sisters living at the house currently. Carlin and Josie recently shared her courtship in January 2018.

Bobby and Tori are heading for a private boat ride in Monterey Bay. They sail past a big group of sea lions. After they are finished their boat ride, the couple face times Gil and Kelly who have been having a hard time since Tori got married.

Since Tori's birthday was a few days after the wedding, the couple heads to Yosemite Valley. Bobby has set up a sleigh ride to celebrate her birthday which could not be completed without a nice hot apple cider. Tori reveals going from courting and being engaged, you have to be careful that you are not too close then one second later you are married and can do whatever you want. It's a big difference. Bobby ends her birthday celebrate with her favorite meal which is steak.

Kelton is getting ready for the whole courtship proposal with Josie so he meets his father to discuss the plans. The plan is to spend the day in Gatlinburg. When Kelton was 13, his mother passed away while welcoming his sister, Kerstin, into the world. Kelton reveals that it was a very difficult time for their family. Kelton revealed that his father had made it his passion to be dedicated to his siblings and him. Kelton reveals that his father is carrying out his mother's wishes for him.

Kelton is getting ready for the big day and manages to get permission from the city to put up lights on Emerets Cove Covered Bridge in Sevierville. His father and brother Carson helped him with putting them up.   

It's time to put the courtship proposal into motion so he heads over to the house with roses to throw Josie off. He was super nervous about walking up since he has never been in a courtship.

Josie, Kelton, Gil, Kelly and Michael head over to Gatlinburg. They take the aerial tram up to the mountain to the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area. The couple goes ice skating and he jokes about getting down to one knee. Josie reveals that he could skip the courtship stage and go to propose. Kelton adds that it would have been in his pocket then it would happen but since he did not have it. Josie knows that it's coming and it should be soon.

After skating, they head over to the covered bridge where the couple walks under the bridge. The parents stay back to give them space.

Kelton has a few heart-felt words for his lady which are  “You know that I have had very strong feelings about you for a long time, and today one of the things that I love most about you is that you absolutely are my best friend. I love your sweet spirit and your tenderness for other people. I love your diligence and even your determination to succeed, that those who don’t know you well might not even see. I really love your green eyes though, and I love this little beauty mark that you try to tell me that you hate because it’s beautiful. But above all, I love your heart. I want to make a commitment to you tonight to pursue your heart, and I brought you a gift tonight to help remind you of my commitment to pursue your heart. I love you, Josie Bates. Can I have your heart?”

Kelton brings out a diamond heart necklace and the two of them share a romantic hug.

The parents are so happy for the newly courting couple. Twenty-five years and two days ago, Kelton parents got married and came to Gatlinburg for their honeymoon and it was amazing how things just lined up like that it seems somewhat surreal that it did for Josie and Kelton.

Kelton revealed that his parents were in truly and deeply in love with each other. Kelton was told  that his father's prayer and dream was that he would find someone that would mean so much to him as his mother was to his father. Kelton reveals that Josie is the one that means that much to him and doesn't know how anyone else could.

Oh Hello June!

The Bates family only has one birthday this month and be sure to check out the June birthday cover to find out who it is.

Bobby and Tori will celebrate their sixth month wedding anniversary. They will have five months until their baby arrives. We will have baby games this month.

We will be ending All about Kaci's updates this month as the little girl will celebrate her second birthday.

Hello 2018!

We are so excited that it's now 2018! We are so excited that this new Year will bring new grandbabies and possible weddings. We also have Courtship News which is coming soon! Bringing Up Bates is returning on January 4th!

The family is currently celebrating Gil's 53rd Birthday! 

 

An courtship and engagement talks?

During the weekend, we shared on our facebook fan page, that Bates girls (Carlin, Josie and Tori) enjoyed a triple date with their boyfriends.

The last official word about the couples:
Tori and Bobby have been courting (almost a year), Carlin and Evan are in the boyfriend and girlfriend stage and Josie and Kelton are currently in the Special friends stage of their relationship.

Next week's Bringing Up Bates, Carlin and Evan will sit down with Gil and Kelly about taking the next step which is to start an official courtship. Also in next week's episode, Bobby will pull Gil aside to ask an important question.

With Josie just starting her last semester of cosmetology school and Kelton graduated in May 2017.

She is currently in a unofficial courtship with Evan Stewart.

2. Is Trace in a courtship?
We haven't found out if Trace is in a courtship but make sure that you stay tune on our blog.

3. Why do separate blog for double birthdays?
It's something that we felt that the Lord put on our heart. We are doing something different to see if we like it on our Instagram post. :)

Recently the Network announced Season six will start June 1st!

5. Brandon and Michaella writing a book?
Brandon and Michaella are almost finished writing their book and we will surely update as soon as it is.

Recap: Tough Decisions and Large Ambitions

Zach and Whitney get ready for Chad and Erin for dinner. Bradley melts his aunt's heart when he gives Carson a small kiss.  Whitney and Erin talk about having girls and how the boys will react with it. Zach asked if Chad can make one for Bradley. Bradley gives his cousin a hug. Zach gives Bradley a taste of cold whip.

The boys head to cut down some wood to keep the cost down. Nathan reveals that his father tries to include the little boys in a lot of what they do. The girls reveal that it is mostly the boys together. He gives the glasses to Jeb.

Nathan and Lawson talk about what they went through as child. The boys get into a competition. Lawson helps Jeb with his cutting wood. When Gil brings the truck and runs over Judson's bike.

Recap: The Big Apple of Nathan's Eye

Nathan is getting ready to surprise Ashley and start their courtship officially. The family believes courtship is going steady. The family's goal is to remain pure in their relationship since it doesn't guarantee that the couple will get married.
Lawson and Nathan head to pick out a gift for Ashley and decide on cowboy boots. The youngest girls are not happy with the gift. Nathan ends up getting earrings to go with the boots.
Lawson doesn't like the outfit Nathan chooses for the trip. Nathan wanted to go to the trip alone but ends up having Kelly go with him. Somehow Gil, Lawson, and Erin go with him.
Nathan is worried that Ashley will think that he is proposing.
The group shows up at the apartment of Ashley. Just like the Bates, the family home school the seven children. Ashley's dad works in the probation system while her mom, Ana Maria, runs a in-home daycare.
The group starts to decorate the house and Erin draws a photo of the two couple kissing. Nathan hangs it where Ashley can see it. Gil wants to put it on the back burner for right now.
Ashley arrives home to find them there. She figured that something was up but was happy to see him. Ashley and her siblings take the family on a boat tour to see some sights. Erin and Ashley try making noodles but went up with 10 Below Ice Cream.
Nathan and Ashley take a carriage ride. Lawson was surprised that they did not want him to go with them. Kelly figures that there was enough eyes on them. The couple decide not to take a chaperone with them on the ride.
 Nathan and Ashley start skating while Lawson puts the bag in the middle of the rink. Ashley is worried that he is going to ask her to marry him and he tells her that it's not a ring.
 “We’d like to start courting, if you’re okay with that,” says Nathan. “Of course I’m okay with that!” responds Ashley.
Nathan gives her one last surprise and lets her know that she is coming to Tennessee to spend Christmas with his family. They are all happy happy.
The family is getting ready for their Christmas party. Michaella and Brandon fly in from Chicago while John and Alyssa fly in from Florida with baby Allie. Nathan and Ashley reveal their courtship story to the family.
Zach and Whitney had just found out the gender of their baby. They decided to hand Kelly a box to open. It will be filled with either pink or blue balloons. The family is so happy to find out that it is a baby girl.

Recap: Love is in the Heir

Nathan returns home with Warden after visiting Ashley. The Bates revealed the new courtship. Nathan quickly gathers Gil and Kelly to go out for dinner.
Zach and Whitney head to Doctor Vic to check on baby #2. Whitney is currently ten weeks pregnant with baby #2. They love the fact that this baby is so active. Whitney can't wait to feel the baby kick. She managed to get the blood test to find out what they are having. They learned that it will be about ten days until they find out if they are having a boy or girl.
Nathan shares about the trip with Gil and Kelly. Nathan shares that he asked her father to start courting and both Gil and Kelly were happy about it. Nathan shares that they have been talking for about six months before they started to court.
Nathan shares that he plans to asked her before Christmas. Nathan wants to go big or go home while Kelly says to do it a little. Nathan wants to have a family meeting to talk about the courtship. They decided to have this meeting while they are decorating.
It is time to decorate the house for Christmas. Judson shares that the family celebrates it as Jesus's birthday rather be about Santa. The girls decided to go for a rustle feel. Nathan doesn't like this feel.
The tower almost hit Isaiah but he is okay. Kelly makes sure that the boys stay out of the way.  Nathan then turns to love it right after that. The house looks amazing.
