It's time to say goodbye to August 2018! Here's a brief recap of what happen this past month.
1. The Bates celebrated Josie, Brooklyn, Callie, Nathan and Evan's birthdays! Be sure to check out our August birthdays to see their birthday posts.
2. The Bates celebrated Brandon and Michaella's third wedding anniversary. They also celebrated Evan and Carlin's one year courtship anniversary!
3. Josie announced that the wedding will be taking place on October 5, 2018!
4. Bringing Up Bates continue to air new episodes of Bringing Up Bates!

Recap: Asking Permission and a big decision
Before Kelton and Josie talked to Gil and Kelly about their future plans, they have a double date with Zach and Whitney. The couple gets along well with Zach and Whitney. Kelton reveals that they value the friendship and counsel that Zach and Whitney share.
Zach sits down to business and asked them when they are planning on getting engaged. Kelton reveals that Zach is on point with everything so it's refreshing and kind of funny to them. Kelton shares that he is preparing to have a large talk but first he and Josie want to have a chat with the parents together. The couple feels that they have come to the conclusion that God wants them to get married. They came to Zach and Whitney to get guidance of the time frame.
Josie is in hope to have a dream fall wedding. She wants to get married this year which is in five months.
Gil is not sure that he can handle another wedding so soon. Kelly reveals that he needs to prepare because it's a domino effect. Gil responds that he doesn't play dominoes. He admits the weddings things are going pretty good for the girls but the boys are having a harder time.
Kelly admitted that both Carlin and Josie have been looking for wedding dresses online. Gil wants to get rid of the internet and Josie starts to laugh. Gil wants his daughter to be happy and admits that he will help her do whatever to make her dream happen.
A few of the boys head over to the church building. Their congregation has grown and now they need to make adjustments to it. The plan is to tear down half of the sanctuary and build a new one that seats almost three hundred people. Lawson suggest that they keep the current building and add the new sanctuary but Gil chooses to follow the existing plan. The project will be done by The Bates, church members and a group from Alabama called Carpenters for Christ.
Bobby and Tori are heading for their first ultrasound with Dr. Vick. The couple is eight weeks into their first pregnancy and due on November 24. Bobby reveals it's insane as you sit in the ultrasound room for the first time and see your child on the screen for the first time.
During the Ultrasound, Dr. Vick says that it looks good. Tori reveals that everything has been great expect for the morning sickness. Tori's progesterone was low but he is able to bring it up with medicine and prescribes something to help with morning sickness.

Preview: Asking Permission and a big decision
Josie and Kelton are eager to move forward with the next phase of their relationship. But before the young couple speaks to Gil and Kelly Jo about the “M” word, they meet up with Zach and Whitney for advice. Meanwhile, Tori and Bobby have their sights set on Nashville, but prior to moving to a new city, they visit Dr. Vick and experience their very first ultrasound! And now that the Bates’ church has added more members to their congregation, they’ve outgrown their space. But is Gil game for an expansion?

Recap: Milestones and new chapters
Bobby and Tori just have two weeks until they move to Nashville. Tori heads over to her sister's house for a cooking lesson. Tori reveals that she really needs cooking lessons from her sister because she struggles at cooking.
For those that didn't know that when Erin married Chad in November 2013, she did not know how to cook but has turned it around and can make chicken breasts marinated in balsamic vinegar and garlic. The meal turns out great but Tori is still not sure about her cooking abilities. The boys arrive to enjoy the meal. Erin reveals that she and Tori have been close as sisters and is having a hard time with her leaving.
Gil takes the boys to work on their newest tree job assignment. Lawson reveals that when Gil first started the business it was a humble beginning. Gil was using the chainsaw while the boys were putting the wood in the Dodge pickup trick. With the older ones getting busy each day, Jackson finds himself learning how to use spikes to climb the tree. Jackson has a lot harder time to make it to the top but makes it up there.
Trace, Josie and Tori are graduating from Crown College. Trace never saw himself going to college. Trace completed the foundation of Christian life. Josie revealed that college had changed her brother and help him to come out of his box.
Josie has finished her degree in cosmetology which was a two year program. Kelly said that her daughter got a lot of hours and Kelton couldn't be more proud of her daughter.
Tori had finished her four year biblical studies in education. Tori had a little bit of hard time during the last semester. Tori revealed that she has been dying to graduate her whole life.
Kelly reveals that everyone is different and that some of her children have wanted to purse college while others haven't. Kelly reveals that she is proud of all of her children.
After the ceremony, they head back to the main house to celebrate with family and extended family members. The next few days, they work on packing Bobby and Tori to move them to Nashville. Tori reveals that she wants to treasure and cherish any moments that she has with her siblings. Nathan reveals that the changes are just getting better since life has been going by too quick.

Bobby and Tori: Eight months of marriage
Bobby and Tori are just four months away from celebrating their first year of marriage.

Recap: Chaperoning Dos and Don'ts
Gil and Kelly decide that it's time to host a chaperoning class for the younger ones since they are getting younger and younger. Kelly knows that most of the little guys thinks that it means that they are getting a free meal.
Gil and Kelly asked Zach and Whitney to show the courting couple how to act on a date and Zach turns the tables on his parents jokely by asking what they do on dates. Zach says that they would love to learn from them.
Even through the family believes in having chaperones, they are encourage to allow the couples to have a chance to talk in private as long as it's a public place. If they are in a restaurant they might be able to get a private table.
Katie and Josie heads to Kelton's house to eat with his side of family. Josie reveals that she and Kelton are planning to cook together since she is not a good cook yet. Kelton's youngest sister, Kerstin, shows off the bunnies she receive for her birthday. At the end of the date, they head to get ice cream at Cruze Farm Dairy.
Bobby and Tori are getting closer to their move and only have one month to find a home. They are planning to move to Hendersonville which is outside of Nashville to meet with the senior pastor, Greg Mutsch, that just hired Bobby at Bible Baptist. After the meeting they go on apartment tours to find one that they both like. Tori reveals that if it doesn't smell bad then she is happy.
During their time in Hendersonville, they are planning to have a double date with Carlin and Evan at a bowling alley. Tori can see this as their future. Lawson stops by to join in on the fun however when they go take a picture, Lawson accuses them of discriminating because he doesn't have a girl. He is totally kidding about it.
Zach and Bradley are building a dog house for Boomer. Lawson reveals that his brother is great at building and Carlin adds that Zach needs to make it big enough that he can fit it too.
