The Story behind Michael's name

We have been getting this question a lot about Michael's name and why we call her Michaella.
Gil and Kelly had originally called her Michal but before she was one year old, Gil and Kelly decided to change her name to Michael.
Gil and Kelly started to call her Michaella when she was five. Michael doesn't mind being called Michaella.
On Why we call her Michaella?
Ever since we started this blog, We have always called her Michaella.
Which would you prefer Michael or Michaella?

    Michael is a boy's name which I like,but not for a girl. Michaella for Michaella Bates.

    I like all three Michal, Michael and Michaella. But I'll go with whatever she likes to be call.

    I prefer "Michael" because her Mom and Dad continue to call her that. .It's cute. A nice name. Wasn't that the name her siblings used when they would scream for her and she would respond to ? I do remember seeing other blogs where her name was listed as "Michael". It's a cute name, just like the name Sam, Terry, Toni, Roni, Tylor, Bobbi, Rory,...etc I have noticed her sister-in-laws address her as " Michaella". It's crazy to me. Think about it, How many of us do dislike our names too, but we accept it !! What's the problem? This makes me think of my deceased Aunt. Her family always called her "Leonie" all her life. Then, suddenly she disliked it. So many times I can recall how she would sign her cards " Love Aunt Leona". It never caught on. Because she was always "Leonie" to us. Funny how her in-laws went by" Lee" !? Funny how people are! My view point. Your parents named you. Honor them. Keep it. I think you're stuck with the name, unless you do come up with a cute nickname or pet name , that will stick like Sis, Sunny....etc. .If not, Stick to the name you were given, because any other name has no sentimental meaning to your family. Besides you define the name ,the name doesn't define you.

    My parents named me Michelle however I go by Shell a lot.
