Welcome to the Bates family blog! Gil and Kelly have been married since 1987 and have welcomed nineteen children. Fourteen of their children are married. They have forty grandchildren with two foster grandchildren.

2019 Recap
It's time for our last post of 2019. The Bates family had many good moments this year that we would love to share with you all.
January-The Bates family celebrated three birthdays along with Mama Jane's birthday. They also celebrated the returned of Bringing Up Bates. They rang in the New Year.
February- The family celebrated Five birthdays along with Valentine's Day. The Balkas announced that they were expecting.
March- The family celebrated Zoey and Everly's first birthdays. Kelton and Josie announced that they are having a baby girl.
April- The family celebrated four birthdays. They also celebrated Easter. Bringing Up Bates aired it mid-season finale.
May- They family celebrated three birthdays and one anniversary. They also watched Carlin married Evan. Zach and Whitney announced that they were expecting their third child. The family celebrated Mother's Day
June- The family celebrated Khloe's third birthday and Father's Day.
July- Lawson celebrated his birthday as the family welcomed Willow Kristy into the world. They celebrated Fourth of July. Chad and Erin announced that they are expecting their fourth child.
August- The family celebrated five birthdays and one anniversary. Whitney and Erin announced their babies names. UP TV announced that Bringing Up Bates is scheduled to return in the fall.
September- The family celebrated four birthdays. Bringing Up Bates returned from their season break and will air until November 2019. Evan and Carlin announced that they were expecting their first child. Trace made a very special announcement.
October- The family celebrated four birthdays and one anniversary. Bobby and Tori announced that they were expecting their second child. Carlin and Evan announced that they were having a little girl while Bobby and Tori announced that they were having a little boy.
November- The family celebrated three birthdays as they welcomed Holland and Everly into the world. They also celebrated Thanksgiving.
December- The family celebrated two birthdays and three wedding anniversaries this month. They also celebrated Christmas.

January Recap
The Bates family has celebrated three birthdays: Gil, Michaella and Lexi Mae.
Bringing Up Bates returned on January 4th. This season is schedule to have 26 episodes making it the biggest season.
We have had many updates from the family. There was an update from nine Bates children and Kelly's eye surgery.
Erin and Alyssa are just three months away from welcoming their daughters, Everly and Zoey. Michaella gave an update from her journey to motherhood on Bringing Up Bates.
Bobby and Tori have been married for one month and gave an update about their moving plans and career update.
There were two courtship announcements from Carlin and Josie Bates.

* Derick and Jill announced that they were expecting baby #2 due in July. They also returned to Central America in February 2017. The couple has revealed that they will return this summer before their baby is born.
* Ben and Jessa welcomed their second child, Henry, on February 6, 2017.
* Austin and Joy got engaged on March 2, 2017
* Joseph and Kendra started a courtship on March 7, 2017
* Josh and Anna announced that they are expecting a baby boy, due later this year.

Courting news!
The Bates just welcomed Chad Paine and Whitney Bates into their family forever well the family just announced that their oldest daughter Michaella just entered a courtship of her own with Brandon. The Bates daughter Alyssa is in a courtship with John.

Courting News
November 6, John Webster and Alyssa began courting, just three days before her birthday!
First they took a walk along the river boardwalk at IJAMS nature center, where John gave Alyssa roses and a beautiful necklace.
They ate a brief lunch on the porch at Rafferty’s, then headed for Rock City in Chattanooga, TN.
The weather couldn’t have been better, the scenery more beautiful, nor the couple any happier!!

We’ve watched Chad and Erin’s affections begin to blossom for each other as they have sought God’s will for their lives. We couldn’t be more excited about their recent choice to begin a more serious relationship. (Courtship update to follow!)

ugh his love for the Lord, his humility, his thoughtfulness, his diligence, his perseverance, his love for his family, and his wise goals, he has shown himself a man of great character.
