2017 has been a big year for the Bates family. From welcoming Grandbaby #6 into the world to Bobby and Tori getting married. So let's go through and recap.
In January, The family celebrated Gil and Michaella's birthdays. They also welcomed John and Alyssa's second daughter, Lexi Mae. Bringing Up Bates returned for a new season. Gil, Kelly and Carlin head down under for a speaking engagement. The family celebrated New Years Day.
In February, The family celebrated Trace, Jeb, Jackson, Addallee and Bobby's birthdays. Brandon and Michaella celebrated their 18th month anniversary. They celebrated Valentine's Day. We celebrated our blog anniversary.
In March, We were introduced to Carlin's special friend Evan Stewart. They also announced that there wil be a special six on Bringing Up Bates.
In April, The family celebrated Carlin, Allie, Chad and Ellie's birthdays. The family celebrated Chad's sister's wedding. Zach and Whit got photos done. They celebrated Easter.
In May, The family celebrated Erin, Carson, and Warden's birthdays. They celebrate John/Alyssa's and Mama Jane/Papa Bill's anniversary. Lawson had a special concert. They celebrated Mother's day.
In June, The family celebrated Kaci's birthday. They celebrated Father's day. Bringing Up Bates returned for their 6th season.
In July, The family celebrated Lawson and Papa Bill's birthdays. They also celebrated Fourth of July. The family moved into the new church.
In August, the family celebrated Callie, Josie, Brooklyn, Evan and Nathan's birthday. The family celebrated Brandon and Michaella's anniversary. Josie announced her relationship with Kelton. The family got to watch the eclipse.
In September, the family celebrated Judson, Brandon and Whitney's birthday. Bobby and Tori announced that they were engaged and planning a December wedding. UP TV announced that there will be a season 7. Carlin and Evan celebrated their first year anniversary.
In October, the family celebrated Katie, Isaiah, Kelly, and Bradley's birthday. Erin announced that she is expecting baby #3 due April 2018.
In November, the family celebrated John and Alyssa's birthdays. John and Alyssa announced that they were expecting their third child in April 2018. The family also celebrated Chad and Erin's anniversary. They celebrated Thanksgiving.
In December, the family celebrated Zach and Tori's birthdays. They also celebrated Bobby and Tori's wedding. They also celebrated Zach/Whitney and Gil/Kelly's anniversary. They also celebrated Christmas and New Years Eve.

Preview: A NEW BABY BORN AND LOVE ALL AROUND!
Love is the air for Bates Family! Gil, Kelly Jo and the kids head to Florida to await the arrival of Alyssa and John’s second child, Lexi Mae! Counting down the days to her delivery, Alyssa checks in at the birthing center for a checkup, but will complications with the baby’s heartbeat delay her delivery? Before the big I Love You Day celebration, the Bates sisters come together for a spa day and dish about Carlin’s new boyfriend. Later, it’s a ‘Down on the Farm’ theme for this year’s I Love You Day celebration, where the entire Bates family honor Mama Jane during the festivities!

Recap: The Cubs land in Chicago
The Five youngest boys are heading to stay at Brandon and Michaella's place while their parents and Carlin are in Australia and New Zealand. They have speaking engagements to do while there. Michaella had ask if she could have all the little ones but Kelly says that she could only have half.
The boys are going to adjust to the couple's rules while they are there. The boys are not used to getting up and going to bed early. They also have to eat healthier food.
Jackson is not sure about the crepes that his sister made because it look like a taco pancake with fruit.
Michaella creates gingerbread for the boys to decorate. She makes a rule saying that the boys can't eat any of the candy which cause her brother to have a relation. The boys are used to being able to eat the candy as they are decorating.
Brandon and Michaella share a medieval story that they wrote and are currently almost finished turning it into a picture book. They head for a little field trip to the medieval times for dinner and then watching a jousting performance.
The boys have tested their sister's patience but they all had a wonderful time. She admits that she will be sad for when they leave.
Josie heads to her cosmetology school and shows the crew around. Josie admits that she is going to be able to do it out of her home once she is married.
Josie admits that it's been a difference experience from being home school. She had a different social aspect but lucky had her friend Courtney there with her.
At home, Josie decides to style her sister's, Carlin, hair. Tori walks in with a lot shorter hair and it's black. It freaks Carlin out a little bit but she reveals that it's a wig.

Season 5 Season Finale!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
We have some news after 14 episodes and counting for this season, UP TV has revealed that next week's episode will be the season finale.
The network has six specials line up to fill in the break until the new season starts on June 1st.
The season finale will be an hour long episode since it will feature Lexi's birth and I love you day!
Lexi's birth episode airs next week!
It's been a little over two months since Lexi Mae arrived and we have eight days until Lexi's birth episode airs.

Recap: Working Up An Appetite
Recently on Bringing Up Bates, The Boys poured concrete for their court but don't get to the basketball goal. Today's goal is to get their basketball goals up to finished the project. Lawson takes charge by giving out instructions. The projects ends up taking two days to finish.
Zach is happy that his brother has good leadership skills and never really messes up even through he told everyone all the wrong stuff to do. He also admits that nobody pays attention to his directions.
Gil and Kelly accompany Carlin and Josie to get their wisdom teeth taken out. Carlin reacts to the anesthesia and it's entertaining. Gil reveals that his daughter was Miss Invincible.
Carlin reveals that she felt mis-combobulated up in her brain and that she could not think straight. She was out of it and would not stop talking until her father told her to. Then she breaks down and begins to cry.
Josie was a very tired and in a lot of pain. Katie reveals that her sisters were total opposites. Josie would start crying and Carlin was crying because you would not party with her. They both did amazing.
Kelly loads up Lawson, Trace, Tori, and Carlin to head over to Cracker Barrel to get dinner for the family. Both Chad and Erin, with their kids, and Zach and Whit, and their kids, were on the way to the house for dinner.
Kelly jokes to her family about the roast because hers don't taste that good. With their trip to Australia coming up, Gil and Kelly had to divide the little kids among Zach, Erin and Michaella while they are gone.
Erin loves that their family can still get together although they are missing Michaella and Alyssa.

Recap: Mass-a-something
The family heads to Massanutten Resort for their ski lessons. Gil is the only ones that knows what he is doing so for the rest of family, it's something new.
Kelly wants her little ones to wear many layers but Gil says that they are going to be hot like a firecracker on fourth of July.
Kelly begins to worried when Michael informs her mother that someone had died from the chair lift making the mom a little nervous about their kids safety.
It takes the family about an hour to get their gear. Most of them are ski and the older boys are snowboarding.
Bobby and Carlin's friend, Evan, joins the family during this trip. Carlin reveals that they are just getting to know each other but are not official as of yet. (See Carlin and Evan's blog update). Trace also brings a friend Campbell Roberts and she says that Trace did wonderful.
Kelly is a nervous Nelly and they all did wonderful. Kelly made sure that the attendant would stop the lift so she can get off slowly.
Nathan had flight school that day and did not arrive until later that night. He is currently taking test to earn his license.
Judson reveals that the next morning he hurt his heinie as the family goes tubing. Kelly teaches Nathan everything that she learned the day before. Kelly reveals that she learned how to fall before she hurt anyone. Nathan picks up the ski lesson very quickly and reveals that his mother is incredible teacher and happy that he got the lesson from his mother.
Erin reveals that everyone is sad when it is time to go home since they were having fun. Gil is happy that his wife did not give up and he thinks that they are going to go back.

Recap: Bike Racks, Barbers & Big Duets!
Lawson is preparing for his concert in Mount Airy. He brings Nathan with him to be inspiration for the Mayberry.
Lawson heads to a local radio station where he is invited to talk on a program. Lawson knows that it's different to be live and only be able to take one take instead of hitting the edit button.
The boys get a special treat while touring the town in a old cop car. They also see the replica of Andy Griffith's office.
Gil and the other boys decide to make a bike rack out of a big log since they often get run over. The bikes are always being left out so Gil wants them be put on the bike rack. The family is impressed by the final product. They are also impressed that they managed to finished something in the same day.Tori says that it's a genius thing.

Recap: Loads of Laundry and Lots of Lessons
The family is staying at a local hotel while the house aired out from the fire. They have two bedroom suites. Gil was hoping that this was going to be fun but changes his mind just 48 hours into the hotel room. The laundry and meals are harder than the family but are thankful that the damage to their house was minor and there were no lives lost.
Gil and Kelly share about the fires in Gatlinburg and how others were facing a bigger problem then they were.
Gil and Kelly take Lawson and the boys to Gatlinburg to see a home that was destroyed by the fire. The house fire happen during the same time as the forest fire. Kelly wants them to picture this house every time that they want to disobey.
The forest fire killed 14 people and injured around 150 but destroyed more than 1,700 structures. The firefighters believe that it was start by two juveniles.
Gil, Kelly, Lawson take the two youngest boys to bring gifts to the family that lost everything in a fire. Gil shares that he thinks that the whole family learn a new lesson. Gil and Kelly share that the family that they went to go see has a great testimony about going through hard times.
Gil and the boys head to the new church building and starts making plans to do a remodel. Trace thinks that it is so awesome that they own their own church building.
Back at their home, the family gets a delivery of their emergency clothes that were professionally cleaned. They head upstairs hoping that the smoke odor has left. They have to do the sheet-rock, floor and repaint the room.
Gil and Kelly load up the family to head to Kentucky to head to the ARK encounter. If you have not hear about the ARK encounter, it's a replica of the Ark that Noah built and it opened in 2016. The inside of it is a museum.
Gil comes up with the idea to take photos of every since spot since there are so many little ones. He hopes to take a look at them later.
Lawson reveals that the family has a lot on their plate right now with work and every day life. He doesn't know how they do it.

Recap: Sweet Home Spartanburg
Kelly has been wanting to take the family to her hometown and is finally able to make it happen. They meet up with Kelly's mother and sisters. They also meet up with Gwen, who happen to live with the family. They walk through the house where she grew up. The family that is living there agreed to let them walk through the house on a tour. Kelly reveals that her brother Chip passed away.
Kelly reveals that she was a little bit of the trouble maker in the family. She said that she was "tattletale", "brat", and "baby" in the family and she would take notes of things that her siblings would say and report it to her mom. She also enjoyed listening in on her brother and his friends. Kelly would also sneak into the bathroom and get them with cold water as they were taking a shower.
The Bates enjoy being a blessing to those that they meet and decide to rake some leaves for the couple to thank them. They also end up jumping in there. The four girls also pray together. Erin says that it gave them a look back into their childhood.
Kelly reveals that she was in the third grade when her mother and father got divorced. She lived with her mother while her siblings went to Tennessee with their father. It was really hard to go through but it made her who she is today. Kelly shares that it is hard on them and they should learn something positive from it.
Kelly revealed that after the divorce she start to pour herself into her studies. She took the family to the high school that she attended and introduce her kids to the two favorite teachers she had.
Michael says that they are thankful for the role that they played in her mother's life and in turned their lives. Kelly's science teacher takes them to the classroom to do an experiment. Since all the kids are homeschool and few haven't gone to college yet. They have not sat in a classroom desk or where a teacher is upfront drawing on a board. They were curious and interested about it.
The family heads to the Beacon where they meet up with Kelly's friends. Her best friend's name is also Kelly. Her friend called many of their friends to meet up which a quite of them showed up. Kelly was in tears by the outcome of each friendship had on her life.
