Southern Speak: Hush Up or be Quiet

  1. I agree with Gil and Kelly on this one-"be quiet" is better than "shut up". Depending on the method of communication, you can really discourage someone from being around you by telling them to shut up! Speaking from experience, it can really be damaging to your child when referring to shut up-even if your intentions were innocent!

  2. I agree with Gil and Kelly. Be quiet is much better than shut up. Communication is everything; and, when you communicate roughly to your kids or younger siblings, they'll eventually pick it up too!
